Rich Eisen announced Thursday that he had tested positive for COVID-19, despite having been vaccinated. The NFL Network analyst shared his thoughts on Instagram and sent a message to his followers, urging them to “get the shot.”

“Double-vaxxed. COVID + It’s possible, folks,” Eisen wrote. “As someone sitting on day four in quarantine to fight symptoms, I can personally attest that you still need to be careful and most importantly get vaccinated.

“Why? Especially since mine didn’t keep the COVID out of my body?”

He added: “So there are no more variants to break through very effective vaccines that would normally bring us all back to normal life. But if you want an answer maybe a little more personal for you: get yourself vaccinated. so you can’t go to the hospital or die. “

Eisen, 52, said he received two injections of Pfizer in February. According to healthcare professionals he has met over the past few days, his symptoms could have been worse if he hadn’t had the vaccine.

“So, be careful if you are vaccinated and, if you are not vaccinated, don’t wait another second,” Eisen concluded.

COVID-19 vaccinations, according to a Yale School of Public Health and Commonwealth Fund study having saved at least 300,000 lives.

“Without the vaccination program, by the end of June 2021, there would have been around 279,000 additional deaths and up to 1.25 million additional hospitalizations,” suggests the study.
