Registration begins at noon on Thursday, January 21 for six more coronavirus vaccination clinics in Riverside County.
After receiving 26,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week, county officials plan to distribute 3,900 of those doses to clinics in Perris, Lake Elsinore and Indio for residents in phase 1A (all levels) and 1B ( level 1), which includes anyone 65 and older. The remainder of the 26,000 doses are distributed to private providers, county spokeswoman Brooke Federico said.
The dates and places are:
- Friday January 22 and Saturday January 23 at Diamond Stadium, 500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore. The Friday clinic is reserved for people 65 years of age and over.
- Sunday January 24 and Monday January 25 at the Perris exhibition center, 18700 Lake Perris promenade. The Monday clinic is reserved for people 65 and over.
- Saturday January 23 and Sunday January 24, in the Fullenwider auditorium of the Indio Fairgrounds, 46350 Arabia St.
The clinics will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Appointments can be made online at www.ruhealth.org/covid-19-vaccine. People 65 and over who need help registering can call 211.
The vaccines will be given free of charge, but those who are vaccinated must have an appointment and register before arriving. They must also present proof of eligibility – a job badge, business ID or letter of proof from their employer – and health insurance information will be requested, but not required. People aged 65 and over must provide proof of their age, such as a driver’s license.
Editor’s Note: This story has been updated to clarify how the 26,000 doses of vaccine received by Riverside County this week are being distributed. Those not donated at the county’s six clinics are being distributed to private providers, county spokeswoman Brooke Federico said.
