Robinson Cano returns from IL as Mets recovers another key piece

There was a buzz around the Mets when they acquired Robinson Cano in a trade this offseason. Cano, one of New York's brightest stars, was returning home to the city that had made it a superstar, but this time on the other side of the city.

The results have not been there this year, however. The Mets took a lot of risk by making the acquisition of Cano, a player starting his 36 year season on the verge of being suspended after a PED suspension and that owed a lot of money. Up to now, Cano's negatives have outweighed its positives, including an embarrassing lack of scramble and a premature move on the injured list.

However, although Cano can never reach the heights he has beaten as a Yankee at its peak, he is also not the hitter we saw this year. The last few weeks have been tough, but fans of the Mets should welcome Cano back with open arms. With a few minor adjustments, he is still able to be among the most formidable hitters on the team.
