Rockstar Games Removes Agent From Official Games List

Rock star games’ Agent is one of those vaporware spectra that anyone with two brain cells knows will never be released. But because AAA editors can never give a straight answer when canceling a project, fans return the courtesy with pointed mentions of the theoretical existence of their undead creations.

Looks like Rockstar has had enough. Agent has been quietly removed from the publisher’s official website, where it was located – if only by name – since its announcement at Sony’s E3 2009 press conference. Once again, we remind you that the license to kill is also a license to be killed.

We reached out to a representative from Rockstar Games and were officially told there was no comment! It does not matter, the fact that the company abandoned the Agent brand in 2018 is still talking about them.

Yes Agent is no longer on Rockstar’s list of everything we’ve done and do, what are fans missing? Agent has always sounded like something that now seems incompatible with the kind of long-tail game catalog parent company Take-Two Interactive expects from Rockstar. Agent was supposed to be a classic console exclusive, for PlayStation 3, seemingly as a sophisticated one-player story with a chic ’70s vibe.

Bethesda Softworks and Arkane Studios may have done this job last month with Death loop, but such things are no longer Strauss Zelnick’s cup of tea. Not at the age of Grand Theft Auto In line, Dead red In line, and NBA 2K22is MyPlayer.

In any event, Agentis still not confirmed, still not denied, and his government still denies any knowledge of his whereabouts or activities. But of course we’ll keep updating this story whenever there’s a mention of Agent somewhere, like on a star wall in Langley, next to Half-life 3 and Beyond good and evil 2.
