Europe loves Duster. This shows us the sales, as well as the presence of the model produced in Romania in all the tables with affordable SUVs. Dacia Duster is Dacia's first field vehicle and the sixth model in the range. The Duster was named the world's cheapest SUV by the World Records Academy soon after the launch of the 2010 Geneva Motor Show.
The model is manufactured at the Mioveni factory under the Dacia brand the Romanian market, Europe, Turkey, Africa and the Maghreb) and under the Renault brand (for the markets of Ukraine, the Middle East and some African countries). In 2013, Duster received a facelift, and in 2017, it also received an automatic transmission, being the first Dacia to receive an automatic transmission (and not to put Easy-r here, the robotic transmission). Then, in the fall of 2017, a new generation of Duster appeared.
In December 2017, the emergence of the new Duster led to an increase in production of the Romanian SUV. If at that time, out of the factory, 17,000 units were produced at the end of the year, 27,000 units were leaving the factory gate.
8 years after Duster ceased to thank his audience, we try to discover the reasons why this model is appreciated
1. Purchase Price
Since entering the UK market, Dacia Duster has positioned itself as the cheapest 4×4 car that the British can buy. Auto Express said on this subject: "NOT EVIL!". Even in the standard equipment is a car on which you can rely. Although until recently there was no air conditioning in the standard equipment, the driver could enjoy a height-adjustable chair and Bluetooth connectivity. The most affordable 1.2 liter 1.2 liter Duster Duster in the Prestige is currently worth € 16,401.
2. Design
Duster looks pretty much like the SUV. The shape is classic for off-road vehicles – large rounded wings, magnificent flags, double optical blocks, bumper, large wheels, ground clearance of considerable height (210 mm) and short supports (822 mm at the front, 820 mm in the back). Dacia Duster was designed by designers from the Renault Design Technocentre, Guyancourt, but Renault's other Renault design centers around the world, including Renault Design Central Europe, contributed to the final result
3. The space
Dacia Duster is very compact. It provides enough space front and back. The wheelbase is 2673 mm and the trunk volume is 478 liters.
4. Low maintenance costs
The operating costs of Duster are also quite low. Although it does not have exceptional finishes, and some might think that its interior is rather inexpensive and that its engines do not offer high performance, Duster is brilliantly targeting its economical car.
5. Security
Euro NCAP, the European body of safety testing of cars, showed that Duster received 3 out of 5 stars, which proves that it is about a car that is safe enough.
6. Consumption
The consumption announced by the manufacturer is 6.5 for the smallest engine – 1.2 Tce of 125 hp. Detailed consumption for Duster can be read here . Several factors were taken into consideration: the number of passengers, the amount of baggage or the conditions of traffic
