Until Renault launches a better Dacia Duster, we have one now. The 2018 edition is already available, it's time to see how it's done.

In an interview about the future Renault model, a kind of super Duster, Sylvain Coursimault, Renault's marketing director, talked about the production of the Romanian model. At the Dacia plant in Romania, there are about 3,000 R & D employees out of 18,000 employees. In the case of the Dacia Duster 2018, 80% of the development was provided in Romania.

The car was introduced in 2017, then it was launched and, in the meantime, a model with a new type of engine was announced. Thus, the classic 1.5 dCi engine will become 1.5 Blue dCi as it has been improved to reduce carbon emissions.

The new Dacia Duster engine is designed to reduce emissions while increasing performance. The 90 and 110 hp versions will have respectively 95 and 115 hp. For the 95cc 1.5 dCi engine, acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will be reached in 12.6 seconds and not in 13.8 seconds as initially. As for the 115 hp, the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h will now be reached in 10.5 seconds and not in 11.8 seconds as at the origin. The official name will become Dacia Duster 1.5 Blue dCi

More important than the automobile is the performance of security testing. At EuroNCAP, Dacia Duster scored similarly to first-generation tests, three out of five possible. According to the test criteria, Dacia Duster received 71% of the maximum score for the protection of adult passengers, 66% for child protection, 55% for pedestrian protection and 37% for security systems

Dacia Premium Duster, Renault is preparing it first for the markets in Russia and Asia. The new car is a C-segment crossover, which the French of Renault want, but it's hard not to associate it with other models, even as a design. Coursimault said that the car will be a kind of BMW X4, but cheaper.

The official presentation will take place at the Moscow Motor Show in August. From here, take a look at the production line in Romania. You will see other models such as Logan or Stepway, but attention is focused on Duster. In the end, see the test track.
