Initially, there will be three engine options: two three-cylinder petrol and one liter one liter, with a diesel. The first TSI engine will produce 95 hp, 160 Nm of torque and will be coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox. The second TSI will produce 115 hp and 200 Nm, coupled with a six-speed manual gearbox, and the TDI will provide 95 hp and 250 Nm, as well as a six-speed manual gearbox. In the future, a 1.5 liter TSI with 150 PS and DSG will be added.

The estimated starting price would be about 17-18 thousand euros. The new VW T-Cross will arrive in the European exhibition halls in April 2019. Throughout its life cycle, it will also be offered in several versions to keep it fresh at all times.

VW expects the new T-Cross to attract customers from competitors such as Renault Captur and Peugeot 2008, rather than breaking sales of models such as the VW Polo or the VW T-Roc. The car will be produced originally in Spain for the European market, then will go to South America, China and India in 2019.

The manufacturer expects annual sales of 500,000 copies when it is produced simultaneously in five globe factories, because according to forecasts, the segment of compact SUVs will double in the next 10 years. In some markets, it will be available in a longer wheelbase and in the United States and Canada will not be officially sold.
