The new Renault Megane RS Trophy promises 300 horsepower and 420 Nm on the EDC transmission. French manufacturer Hot Hatch incorporates Torsen differential, stiffer suspension and improved braking system
The new generation of the Renault Megane RS was introduced last autumn Until now, Hot Hatch of the French manufacturer could only be ordered in the Sport and Cup versions. But Renault has kept its promise and today we know the upmarket Megane RS Trophy.
The most powerful version of the Megane RS is based on the Cup chassis and features a Torsen differential and a more rigid damping system. Under the hood of the Renault Megane RS Trophy is the same 1.8-liter turbocharger, but now the power has increased by 300 hp. The engine torque is 400 Nm for versions equipped with a six-speed manual transmission or 420 Nm for the EDC transmission. The additional 20 horses were obtained from the turbine and exhaust system. The latter offers different "noises" depending on the ride mode selected via the Multi-Sense pack.
The acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h is done in 5.7 seconds, the third speed of 80 to 120 km / h in 3.1 seconds and the maximum speed of 260 km / h.
The new Renault Megane RS Trophy is equipped with 19 "Jerez wheels with Bridgestone Potenza S001 tires, and from 2019 Hot Hatch can be ordered with 19" Fuji wheels. They are lighter with 2 pounds and come with Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires.
For improved dynamic behavior, the Megane RS Trophy integrates the 4Control integral steering system and the four dampers with 25% more stiffness than the base, have received a hydraulic component to limit their effects at decommissioning. As expected, the braking system has also been improved. The brake discs have a diameter of 355 mm at the front (consisting of two types of materials) and 290 mm at the back, and the Brembo calipers are painted red.
The steering wheel has been lowered by 20 mm, and optionally, customers can choose the Recaro sports seats in Alcantara
