Allianz-Ţiriac, the largest insurance company in the local market, acquired the home insurance portfolio sold through the Astra Asigurări banks, a company that went bankrupt in 2015.

The portfolio consists of approximately 4,000 clients whose insurance policies are transferred to banks Raiffeisen and Piraeus. Customers were forced by the banks to buy these insurances when they contracted the loan, the policy being designed to offset potential bank losses resulting from the risks incurred by real estate purchased by credit. These policies are multi-year and have remained in force since the bankruptcy of Astra because banks have avoided denouncing contracts, preferring to maintain a partnership with Astra, because the waiver is heavier
