What is the true identity of the Romanian people? Who are we, individually and collectively? Of all the episodes of our history, Dacia has become the subject of most debates, polemics and theories, more or less fanciful. But the film does not answer the questions of dacologues, dacoptes or daciophobes, but it invites dialogue between camps, but especially introspection.
"I think the centenary of this year should remind us of the good part of the event 100 years ago, but be more reserved about the superlative talk about the Romanians and their ancestors and let us watch a little around us.We will see that the society in which we live is in no way in conformity with this polology which tells us that we are the best, the most intelligent, the most organized, but that no one The moon does not revolve around the Bucegi, but around the earth When you start driving with such a distorted image of yourself, you can not escape.A first step is to be realistic And that also applies to the way you create and interpret your story, "says Andrei Gorgan, one of the directors of the film.
The film brings together the survivors of a dacian village, a historian and an archaeologist – members of a pageant troupe, a group of Dacian mystics, an organizer of events, the director of the Dacian UNESCO at Sarmisegetusa Regia and participants at Dacian Congresses. Everyone unites their common passion for the Dacians. But this separates them from the different vision that each of them has of an increasingly popular historical episode in Romania each year.
In Bucharest, the film can be seen at:
- Romanian Farm Museum on November 27, 2-5-8 and 9 December
- Elvira Popescu Cinema on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd
- Eforie Cinematheque and Union du Cinéma
