The administrators of the 9gag.com web platform have published a fake photo of the Alba Iulia monument. The statue is colored in blue on the sides and the article's authors say that "Facebook seems to have a monument dedicated to Alba Iulia".
One of the commentators who commented on the article said the monument looks like a "giant penis of blue color". Another commentator says that it comes from Alba Iulia and insists that the monument is not painted blue.
The Union Monument and the Union Bridge were completed and opened on Monday, November 26th.

The Alba Iulia Union monument is 22 meters long, about 7 to 8 storeys high and has a mass of 1,530 tons. The price of the contract signed between the sculptor MIhai Buculei and the Ministry of Culture is 10 209 700 lei, including VAT. The monument represents four crosses that unite in the upper part and signifies the union of the four Romanian provinces on December 1, 1918. The construction is also called "Facebook monument" because of the striking resemblance to the social network logo.
The first stages of the construction of a monument of the Union in Alba Iulia were launched in 1993 by representatives of patriotic organizations. In recent years, they have also received support from the prefecture, the mayor of Alba Iulia and some parliamentarians.
