Apple has filed an appeal with the US Supreme Court against a decision granting a group of users the right to initiate a process to charge it with a monopoly in the App Store. .
A group of Apple users wants to bring a lawsuit against the company, accusing it of abusing its monopoly to increase the price of applications for iPhone and iPad. Last year, they received a favorable decision from a court and Apple now appeals to the Supreme Court.
The App Store is the only app store for iOS and Apple bills 30% of the sales price of application developers and games for mobile devices in the company.
The legally organized user group accuses Apple of forcing them to pay more for apps, taking advantage of the dominant position. They argue that prices would have been lower if the applications had been provided by several sources.

Apple, meanwhile, indicates that developers set their prices and that applications are purchased directly from them.
If Apple loses the call, which begins with the presentation of arguments, the US company could see one of the main sources of revenue, the application store. Last year, the App Store generated $ 38.5 billion.
Even if they won their case in the Supreme Court, users will have to convince, as part of a separate process, that Apple takes advantage of the position it occupies and that the percentage perceived is to blame for the high prices of applications.
