From 1 December 2018, every Saturday at 21:00, Cristian Tudor Popescu, critic and film historian, will present to Digi24 the collection of Romanian art. The new series, CinemaTePeca, debuts with the national holiday with one of the first Romanian films awarded in Cannes and with an outstanding broadcast on Sunday.
"I put on my movie hat to talk about the big screen on the small screen, CineTePrinde, 9 years old at Pro Cinema, comes back to CinemaTePeca at Digi24," said Cristian Tudor Popescu.
On the national holiday, CinemaTePeca invites you to a film event that speaks about the drama and the honor of being Romanian, at a troubled time in history. In 1964, the "Hanging Forest", masterpiece of the writer Liviu Rebreanu, became a cinematographic masterpiece. A year later, Liviu Ciulei's film was awarded the director's prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The last film directed by Liviu Ciulei, "The Hanging Forest", brought together Victor Rebengiuc, who was at the beginning of his career.
Because this important birthday is due to more than one day of celebration, CinemaTePeca will be broadcast on Sunday December 2nd at the same time. The Sunday film will be "Morometii", directed by Stere Gulea, movie that has marked the history and filled the movie theaters.
CinemaTePeca will be airing at Digi24 from next week, every Saturday at 21:00. The hostess of the cinema will continue to be the journalist and film critic Cristian Tudor Popescu. The most valuable films of Romanian cinema will be at Digi24 every weekend, in a concise and tasty presentation, CinemaTePeca. Cristian Tudor Popescu worked for "Adevărul", a newspaper that he directed until 2005. With a part of "Adevărul", he then founded the daily "Gândul", becoming the leader of the new newspaper. In 2015, he left the newspaper Gândul and is now permanently invited to the Digi24 Evening Journal and commentator at Europa FM. He founded the online publication "Republic" with Claudiu Pândaru, Florin Negruţiu and Alex Livadaru.
