Simona Halep, 1st Place WTA, will start the 2019 season the second week of January during the Premier League tournament in Sydney starting January 7th.
Among the best players, the German Angelique Kerber, 2nd WTA, the Japanese Noami Osaka, 5th WTA, the American Sloane Stephens, 6th WTA, the Czech Sprint Karolina Pliskova, the 8th WTA, the Dutchman Kiki Bertens, WTA 9th, and rushes Daria Kasatkina, WTA 10th place.

Simona Halep, 1st place at the WTA, has not registered for the Shenzhen tournament (December 30-January 5), which holds the trophy, in singles and doubles, writes news.ro.
In 2017 and 2018, Halep started the season at the Shenzhen Open, the tournament in the WTA International category. The current WTA leader won the Chinese competition in 2015 and in 2016, he also started the season in Sydney.

Halep does not participate in any of the three tournaments of early 2019, namely Shenzhen, Brisbane and Auckland. It could however evolve in the week on a joker.
The first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, will begin on January 14th.
