French film star Gérard Depardieu was heard by police on Tuesday as part of an investigation into rape and sexual assault, a police source quoted by AFP reported on Wednesday.
The actor was "heard in free hearing" and was not placed under surveillance, said the source confirming the publication of a message on RTL.
Gerard Depardieu is accused of rape and sexual assault by an actress. The complaint against Depardieu, aged 69, was filed at the end of August.
The facts allegedly took place at the home of the actor, in the center of Paris on 7 and 13 August.
"Gerard Depardieu absolutely disputes any aggression or villa," said Hervé Temime, actor of the actor, after filing a complaint.
"I regret the public nature of this procedure, which causes considerable prejudice to Depardieu, whose innocence is believed to be recognized," said Temerio's lawyer, calling for "maximum restraint and moderation. "
The lawsuit filed against Depardieu, one of the best-known French actors abroad, follows several revelations that touched many personalities of the film, motivated by the scandal that targeted the American producer Harvey Weinstein in October 2017.
