A 58-year-old woman living in Galati, who had other health problems and had not been vaccinated, died of a flu in a city hospital. The number of deaths reaches 68.

The woman died Friday evening at Saturday at the emergency clinic hospital "St. Apostol Andrei" in Galati.

Representatives of the Galaţi Public Health Department said that the woman had died of AH1, the situation being worsened by the existence of chronic diseases. The patient became seriously ill at the hospital and died of complications that occurred at the time of admission.

"A 58-year-old woman with AH1 died at the hospital, she was suffering from several chronic diseases, was seriously ill at the hospital and died during the night," said Liliana Moise, DSP Galati, at MEDIAFAX.

The woman had not been vaccinated against the flu virus.

In Galati, it is the fourth victim of cold in this cold season. A 51-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man, both with multiple health problems, have died in recent weeks. A man was hospitalized at the Iasi Oncology Hospital for leukemia.

In addition, in Galati, there were other cases of influenza, but the patients were mild and did not require long-term hospitalization.

At the national level, the number of deaths due to the influenza virus has reached 68. The Ministry of Health announced Wednesday an epidemic of influenza.
