Audi officially launched the production of electric motors in the Györ factory in Hungary.
The first electric motors produced by Audi Hungary will be used for Audi e-tron models. It is the first purely electric model of Audi and it will be built at the Audi factory in Brussels.
"The company has invested an amount of two million dollars to build and equip the production unit," reported Audi.
Currently, there are about 100 people working in this new division.
"Audi Hungary has been involved in four-ring marking for more than 25 years and our subsidiary in Hungary is now entering an absolutely new field, starting to produce electric motors. This exclusive know-how makes Győr our main production unit of electric motors, being the very example of our strategic transformation into a sustainable mobility provider, "said Peter Kössler, general manager of Audi AG responsible for production and Logistics
For the production of electric motors, Audi Hungary has installed the innovative equipment and islands in one year
The current production capacity is about 400 electric motors per day and can be increased gradually. At present, about 100 people are working in this new division, and their number is expected to increase to more than 130 by the end of the year. Either shift, but soon it will move to a three-shift system.
Győr's electric motor has many new features. In the stator, which is one of the main components of the motor, the issue is to insert as much as possible copper enamelled copper wire into the housing, because the longer winding is Nearer, more power supply is effective. A new center of winding and insertion within Audi Hungary allows a very compact winding of an optimal amount of enamelled copper wire and then insertion into the case [19659004] Production facilities, robots and bolting and measuring stations are installed in fixed positions, but are not interconnected with a linear band. Instead, employees produce propulsion systems based on the modular method in production islands. Although there is a predefined sequence of assembly steps, the modular system allows branching paths and greater freedom of action in the production process. Components are transported to workstations by vehicles not controlled by intelligent computer systems
Alongside the production division, Audi Hungary has installed three test benches for electric motors in the engine development department for operations Continue testing and loading. Employees were trained in the technical production center to become experts in electric motors
Audi Hungary produced a total of 1,965,165 engines last year, thus being one of the largest manufacturers engines in the world. At the Győr plant, six different types of gasoline engines and three different types of diesel engines were produced in 2017, with a power output of between 63 kW (86 hp) and 470 kW (639 hp). Around 6,000 employees produce about 9,000 engines per day for 32 Volkswagen Group production units
