Osram Continental GmbH is a joint venture between the two technology companies Continental and Osram. The new company has officially started and will initially employ 1,500 people in 16 countries.

In Romania, Osram Continental will operate in Iasi and the team will work with teams from different countries

The new company will produce modules and LED lighting solutions as well as lighting systems. laser lighting. and related electronics in the automotive industry. The first products developed by the company will be ready for serial production by 2021.

In Romania, Continental has seven production units and four research and development centers in Timisoara, Sibiu, Carei, Nadab, Brasov. and Iasi. Continental is a partner of a joint venture in Slatina and has a tire distribution center in Bucharest. The company has nearly 20,000 employees in Romania, where it produces annually more than 150 million units for the automotive industry
