Dacia cars will be compatible with Android Auto alongside Alfa Romeo, Volvo and Opel models

Android Auto, the software component of cars that allows the smartphone to connect and operate via the infotainment system, now reaches many machines. Among the brands like Alfa Romeo, Volvo and Opel, we also have Dacia, whose Media Nav system will be compatible with Google's operating system in the very near future. The announcement was made via the official website of Android

New Android Auto-cars have been added to the category "Auto" Android.com. We have the 2018+ Giulia and 2018+ Stelvio models on the Alfa Romeo 2018+, the 2018+ Kicks, the MM518D-L and the MM518D-W (these are the names of the navigation systems, not the cars) and the Volvo 2019+ S60, 2019+ V60 and 2018+ XC40

Virtually all machines that have been upgraded to new 2018 or 2019 versions of these manufacturers, which previously had Android Auto, retain this feature. In the case of Opel (and Vauxhall in the UK), the 2018+ Combo and the 2018+ Grandland X are the ones that benefit from Android Auto

Finally, we have a new page on the Android site Auto dedicated to the Romanian manufacturer Dacia. No model will benefit from this feature, but it's easy to guess that these are the ones who will benefit from the Media Nav system. Since all Dacia cars can be configured with this system, they will probably also be compatible with Android Auto

But there is a question mark when considering the availability of Android Auto in Romania. Google does not provide official support for this feature, so users must install their app in APK format because it does not appear in the Romanian Google Store. For this reason, Dacia can not install the software on compatible devices sold in the country. The inclusion of the Android Auto site indicates that "availability may vary by country and level of configuration". In addition, the link on the page is on the Dacia website in the UK.

While Dacia cars can enter the "world" on this occasion, there is a possibility that only those in other countries can enjoy by the new feature. We currently have no information on the compatibility of the Media Nav infotainment system and Apple's CarPlay features
