It is no longer a secret that Dacia Duster is getting a new engine. The 100-liter TCe powertrain replaces the old 115-hp 1.6 SCe and features low fuel consumption.

In the French car market, the starting price of the basic version (Access) with the 1.0 TCe engine is 12,490 euros, while the Essential version starts at 14,500 euros. We can expect similar prices in the local market.
Although it is the basic version, it comes with emergency braking assistance (AFU), ESP, on-board computer, front power windows, ramp starter, tire pressure monitoring system and front, side and side airbags. curtain. The rear seat benefits from the Isofix system and the closure of the car is centralized.
From a technical point of view, the new engine is based on the 1.3-liter engine already used in the Renault and Dacia ranges. The unit is equipped with a distribution belt distribution. The three-cylinder engine is lighter, more compact and has already been installed under the hood of the new generation of Renault Clio.
The new engine has a capacity of 999 cc and offers a maximum power of 100 horsepower at 5,000 rpm. The maximum torque is 160 Nm, this value being reached at 2750 rpm. The engine complies with new emissions standards, but it even succeeds without a particulate filter.
The cheapest Duster has Eco mode and the average power consumption is between 5.5 and 5.6 l / 100 km (depending on the WLTP test cycle). The tank of the car has a capacity of 50 liters, which means that a maximum range of 900 kilometers would be possible.
In terms of performance, the Dacia Duster equipped with the new TCe 100 engine accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 12.5 seconds and the pointer of the speedometer stops at 168 km / h. Traction is on the front axle and the transmission is manual five-speed.
The actual mass varies between 1,191 and 1,275 kilograms depending on the version of the equipment and the maximum authorized weight is 1,725 kilograms.
The Dacia Duster TCe 100 can handle a towable mass with a maximum braking system of 1,100 kilograms or a trailer without a braking system with a maximum weight of 630 kilograms.
