Dacia surpassed Volkswagen in sales in France

The Mioveni Dacia plant continues to grow. It produced nearly 176,000 vehicles in the first half, up 3.2% from the same period in 2017, according to data from ACAROM.

Dacia Duster is the first of its kind, a sign that the latest automaker model is in high demand. Duster is followed by Sandero, Logan and Logan MCV. More than 20,000 semi-assembled coaches in Algeria are added to these models.

In terms of registrations, Dacia is one of the main contributors to the substantial growth of Romania. In the first five months, nearly 12,600 new Dacia cars were registered, an increase of almost 40%.

Dacia finished the best semester since its presence on the French market. It reached a record 77,700 cars sold, up 20% from last year, according to Profit.ro.

The Romanian brand has thus managed to reach a market share of 6.5% in Hexagon, surpassing even Volkswagen, which is the best-selling brand in Europe. In fact, it can be said today that Dacia has become a French brand, climbing to fourth place after the three famous brands – Renault, Citroën and Peugeot.

And at the level of the European Union, Dacia has picked up speed. It recorded an increase of more than 17% after the first 5 months and reached nearly 226,000 vehicles sold, which also represents a record volume for the Romanian brand.
