After the MINI E pilot project in the last decade and the MINI Cooper SE hybrid model Countryman ALL4, marketed in 2017, the first fully electric MINI. This is the next step in electrifying the MINI brand and it reflects BMW's NUMBER ONE> NEXT strategy.

"MINI is an urban brand and the all-electric MINI is the next logical step," says Oliver Heilmer, Director of MINI Design. "These initial sketches describe our vision of authentic design and create a bridge between the brand's history and its electric future."

The sketches show the grille of the car. Its hexagonal shape is a defining element for the brand's design, but the closed interpretation is new. The grid shows the absence of cooling elements, which can lead to much better aerodynamic characteristics. A yellow accent bar, with an E logo of the same color, produces a powerful contrast effect and identifies this model as an electric MINI. The second sketch shows the attractive design of the wheel that will be drawn from the MINI Electric Concept – introduced for the first time last year – to the production model. The wheels take up the reason of the bar of emphasis on the grille and add their own asymmetrical note

BMW Group has already announced the development of a MINI single-controlled electric car. The first of these large-scale MINI-powered treadmills will be available from 2019 – exactly 60 years after the launch of the Mini Classic

This model ensures that electric mobility is a MINI-like experience: driving pleasure style and individuality. The electric car will be built in the BMW Group's electric mobility center of the Dingolfing and Landshut factories, both in Bavaria, before being integrated into the Oxford factory car, which is the main production site of the MINI Hatch. with three doors
