Gabriela Matei, the first woman to lead the local operations of the US computer giant Microsoft, will finish her term as general manager at the end of this month, according to a note from Microsoft Romania.
Gabriela Matei, a 17-year-old telecommunications and information technology manager, joined Microsoft Romania in November 2012 as cloud director of the cloud division. In 2014, she became Commercial Director for the Small and Medium Business segment and in 2016 she was appointed Managing Director of Microsoft Romania. She took over from Kostas Loukas, the director of Greek origin who has been running the American business for three years
