The HTC smartphone maker in Taiwan dropped nearly 68 percent in June to $ 2.2 billion in Taiwan ($ 72 million), compared to $ 6.9 billion in Taiwan. In the same period of the previous year, being the biggest accident in the last two years, according to Reuters.

Once favorite among buyers and investors, the popularity of HTC fell into rivalry as Apple, Samsung and more recently Xiaomi, HTC said the company's sales fell nearly 68% in June, with the largest decline in the last two years in a context of increased competition with rivals. In the high-end segment, this year's flagship phone sales have been below company expectations, resulting in a decline in market share, Trendforce analyst said.

The company's shares plummeted by about 30% in 2018.
