The rector of the SNSPA, Remus Pricopie, criticizes the decision of the Romanians who want to leave the Centenary. He wrote on his Facebook page a small text comparing the gesture of protest against the national holiday to that of beating the carpet on a feast day.

At first, when I was small, I did not understand. I was wondering why not beat the carpets if they are dusty? Why not give them the brilliance that we know we can get, with well-knuckles and a brush?
The answer, which I understand a little later, is simple: if you have not been enough to do it before, be patient, respect the day of the holiday, and if you are still looking for the shine of the carpet and the clean air from home, just do it after.
I think my grandmother would have given the same advice to those who wish to organize a protest rally against the Romanian government on 1 December 2018. It would be wise that the symbolic charge associated with the national holiday, one hundred years after the Great Union, not to be protected by political partisanship, "writes Remus Pricopie on Facebook.
