The Hyundai i30 N line is the latest addition to the South Korean manufacturer's compact lineup
The Hyundai recipe for creating this model is not new at all, and it has been successfully applied by other brands over time. The closest example comes from sister brand Kia, which offers GT Line variants of its models. Renault has chosen a similar name for common versions of the common range but with performance range parts.
In the case of Hyundai, the i30 N line is the first representative of this idea designed to bring a range of spices. In terms of design, the model borrows the styling elements of the i30 N, the compact version of the compact that it puts on the i30's standard five-door bodywork.
The wheels are changed with a set of 18 inches and the protection have a sportier design and a silver ornament. The rear panel has two exhaust pipes and the front fenders have an N Line logo.
The interior features sports seats with N logo and sport pedals, a perforated leather sport steering wheel and a new shift lever portfolio. Interestingly, Hyundai has changed suspension settings and mounted larger brake rotors for this variant. So, instead of 15 inches, they are 16 inches in diameter, but only on the front axle.
The standard tires are the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 for increased performance. The response to engine acceleration has been improved, says Hyundai, but there is no improvement in performance.
Customers must choose between a 1.4 turbo engine and a 1.6 liter diesel. The first offers 138 hp and 242 Nm, while the second delivers 134 hp and 280 Nm. Nearly half of an i30 N, but at a significantly lower price. I30 N Line is only the beginning of this type of product in the Hyundai range
