The Romanian Constitutional Court (CCR) postponed to June 5 its decision on the conflict between the Parliament and the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ICCJ) on the establishment of specialized bodies in corruption cases, complaint by Florin Iordache. This is the fourth time that the CCR has postponed its decision.

At the same time, the CCR rejected NLP's request for Florin Iordache's jurisdiction to refer to the CCR instead of the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies, Liviu Dragnea.

The Court must indicate whether the President of the Chamber of Deputies may delegate his role of referral from the CCR to one of the Vice-Presidents.

CCR decision awaited by Dragnea

If the CFR had found the existence of a constitutional conflict, the situation in the High Court would have been repeated in the case of five judges. Some of the sentences would have been quashed, the cases tried again and the High Court should form such an endorsement.

Such a decision of the CCR could have deprived Liviu Dragnea, leader of the PSD, of the sentence of 3 years and 6 months of imprisonment pronounced during the substantive phase of the file Fictitious employee to the DGASPC Teleorman. Even on Monday, the High Court presents closing arguments in this highly publicized process.

The exception, raised by Dragnea's lawyers

In the case of specialized payments, it is even the exception raised by the lawyers of Liviu Dragnea as part of the publication Fictive Employees' Employees at the DGASPC Teleorman (file "Bombonica") , in front of the panel of five judges.

In practice, the leader of the PSD asks, through his lawyers, to find that the first court that tried it, the merits, was not legally constituted and that the judgment would resume from scratch.
