Ford Puma will return to the market, announced several Australian publications.
This time, instead of a coupe, the Blue Oval will give the configuration of the Puma SUV. The information comes from the patent office in Australia and New Zealand. We already know that Ford wants to launch another small class SUV, besides EcoSport, and that this model could be called Puma in some markets.

Maverick and Timberline are named, but Puma seems to be the name chosen for the Australian and New Zealand markets. The Mitsubishi had a strategy similar to that of the Eclipse, which came back after a constant breach in the SUV and the suffix Cross in his name.
In the case of Puma, it is unclear whether the name will be used in all markets and whether it will be a crossover or a versatile crossover SUV. In any case, it would be his debut in 2022 or 2023. Blue Oval will launch the Bronco model before, and Puma seems to be his youngest brother and future rival Jeep Renegade.
The goal of Ford would be to attack the SUV market of small class and a retro design inspired by Jeep. Until the arrival of Puma, EcoSport is in line with the range, but it would be interesting to have this model built alongside EcoSport in the Craiova factory.
Unfortunately, we have no news in this direction, although a second Ford model is in production at Craiova in the future. Until then, Ford Craiova wants to increase its workforce to meet the demand for EcoSport.
