This involves driving a vehicle on a public road under realistic conditions to obtain the figures closest to the actual consumption of this model.
The builders were familiar with the new standard before it was introduced that is not a surprise to anyone for the new standard of emissions and fuel consumption. In the case of models to be eliminated from production, producers felt that their alignment to the new standards was not justified in relation to the volume of sales they were making.
