President Klaus Iohannis launched a wave of attacks against the government led by Viorica Dăncilă, just a day after the prime minister asked him to "make peace" during the solemn sitting of Parliament. After hearing the new criticism from the president, Dăncilă asked him a question.

"I listened to the criticism of the President.I agree that everything is not perfect.We have tried to make as much as possible in a year.I am convinced that we still have a lot to do, but I think the pace at which we can reach what we are aiming for is an alert, an accelerated pace if we act in concert.

I think a lot of things we want to do have this barrier against lack of cooperation, lack of dialogue, lack of understanding. Do I sometimes wonder what we win if each time we tackle? My impression – we do not win anything. This constant criticism and this disunity lead to internal and external inconveniences. We see a divided society in Romania and I do not think anyone likes it. We do not have to necessarily accept what some people do or what others do, we can talk, but I think things have gone too far and it depends on us all, no matter where we work, no matter where we are. We work through the media, by all who can get involved as much as possible to bring peace to Romanian society.

Moreover, all these things are pursued externally and if we give this signal, if we show that we do not trust in ourselves, how to ask others to believe in Romanians and Romania. I do not want to attack anyone and I do not mean ugly things, I'm not a supporter of that, but I think the chair should be a little more cautious in his statements and try to put that consensus into practice. I think that the answers should not be given to us through the media, we can talk, we can talk, we can solve problems that do not agree between the two sides. I've been teaching this in the European Parliament and for nine years I've been thinking about it and I consider the negotiation that a constructive dialogue can be beneficial and I think that at the centennial, maybe to be at the approach of the national holiday, we could become wiser.
