A woman from Romeoville filed a bond for R. Kelly on Monday, according to documents from the Cook County Circuit Court.

Valencia P. Love, 47, issued a US $ 100,000 bond to pull the R & B singer out of Cook County Prison while he was awaiting trial on charges. He had sexually assaulted four people since 1998, including three underage girls.

The Herald-News contacted Love, who claimed to live in Romeoville and had paid a deposit for Kelly.

On bail documents, Love said her relationship with Kelly was "a friend". She confirmed that Kelly was a childhood friend.

"If your friend was in trouble, you would not bail them out?" she says.

Love did not say if the money was hers.

"He came out," she said. "It does not matter who (posted)."

Love declined to say how well she knew Kelly, but said that they had kept in touch over the years.

"I only helped a friend," she says.

She said that she felt innocent until proven otherwise.

"We heard their side," she says. "We will wait for his side to come out."
