Ron Johnson urges Biden to monitor reactions to coronavirus vaccines

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter to Joe Biden’s administration on Tuesday urging them in their efforts to monitor the adverse effects of coronavirus vaccines, Breitbart News has exclusively learned.

Johnson sent the letter to Director of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Francis Collins, Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Rochelle Walensky, and Acting Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Janet Woodcock. , inquiring about agency efforts to monitor and report adverse reactions from coronavirus vaccines through the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS).

In his letter, Johnson noted that the VAERS had recorded, in less than seven months, more than 400,000 adverse events. This is 15 times more than the weekly average before the coronavirus. Johnson noted that while VAERS data does not prove causation, VAERS statistics should be taken seriously. The senator wrote:

In October 2020, before any vaccine received an EUA, your agencies were expressing and expressing great confidence in your vaccine safety early warning systems like VAERS. The CDC and the FDA have included VAERS as one of the primary passive surveillance tools to monitor the safety of the COVID-19 vaccine. The CDC noted that the VAERS covers the entire US population and its ability to “quickly detect safety signals” and “detect rare adverse events.” Now, nine months and 438,441 adverse events reported later, healthcare professionals publicly downplay the effectiveness and validity of these same systems. For example, on May 3, 2021, Dr. Paul Offit, who is a member of an FDA advisory committee, said, “So [VAERS is] a noisy system which is frighteningly more frightening than useful. Which one is it?

With the inclusion of foreign adverse events, VAERS reports 9,048 deaths, 26,818 hospitalizations, 56,915 emergency room visits and 438,441 reports in total. These adverse events were recorded over a period of 29 weeks for an average of 15,000 per week, or 15 times the weekly average before the COVID-19 vaccines.

A Economist/ A YouGov poll recently found that about a quarter of Americans had a “negative reaction” to the coronavirus vaccine. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) added a warning label to the Johnson & Johnson single-dose vaccine about links to a rare neurological disease.

Johnson noted that he held a press conference with five women and a 13-year-old who had suffered adverse effects with the coronavirus vaccine. He wrote:

One of the women had participated in the AstraZeneca clinical trials and the 13-year-old participated in the 15-year-old Pfizer clinical trial. As a condition of participation in the trial, they were both in good health before vaccination. Their neurological injuries were significant. At the time of the event, members of their Facebook support groups totaled more than 2,000 people with similar neurological injuries following the vaccine. A few days after the press event, the size of their group had grown to almost 5,000 members.

The big tech social media platforms subsequently censored their stories.

Twitter described a mother’s description of her daughter’s adverse effects on the coronavirus vaccine as “misleading.” Facebook also censored posts by private groups and individuals about Americans’ claims side effects with the coronavirus vaccine.

Johnson also wrote that many of these agencies have made conflicting statements about the effectiveness of VAERS; he argued that these contradictions would lead to less trust in government agencies. He said:

It is precisely these kinds of contradictory statements and attitudes that have eroded public confidence in the statements and recommendations of your agencies. Full disclosure, honesty and transparency will be the only ways to regain your credibility and restore public trust in your agencies.

Johnson called on the CDC, NIH and FDA to hold a public hearing on the adverse effects of coronavirus vaccines.
