Run is a brand new movie that’s streaming now on Hulu and it’s a suspenseful thriller with a few twists and turns. The film was originally scheduled to hit theaters in May, but the streaming service acquired the project amid the pandemic.

Here’s the official movie synopsis: “They say you can never escape a mother’s love… but to Chloe, it’s no comfort – it’s a threat. There is something abnormal, even sinister, in the relationship between Chloe (newcomer Kiera Allen) and his mother, Diane (Sarah paulson). Diane has raised her daughter in total isolation, controlling every move she has made since birth, and there are secrets that Chloe is only beginning to grasp.

Click inside to see how the film ends and an explanation of this great twist …

At the start of the film, a title card reveals the five diseases that Chloe has or is led to believe she suffers from: arrhythmia, hemochromatosis, asthma, diabetes, and paralysis.

Early in the film, Chloe begins to understand that her mother drugs her and finds out that she is taking a dog medicine meant to numb their legs after surgery.

Diane ends up imprisoning Chloe in their house and she can escape twice. The second time around, she poisons herself to force her mother to take her to the hospital. Before that happens, she finds out that Diane is not in fact his biological mother. After the death of Diane’s real daughter, Chloe, two hours after birth, she abducted another child from the hospital, who is the Chloe we are watching.

At the hospital, Chloe is treated for attempted suicide, but Diane finds a way to kidnap her again. When a nurse sounds the alarm after noticing Chloe’s disappearance, the security guards find them. Diane, who is armed, is shot in the shoulder by a guard and she falls down a staircase.

SEVEN YEARS LATER!

The movie turns seven years later and we see Chloe visiting Diane at an institution. She gives her mother an update on her life, including how she has a husband and a child, as well as a relationship with her biological parents. She is also now working in the medical field, which was her dream.

Diane appears to be in a state of paralysis and is simply looking at Chloe as she speaks. Before leaving, Chloe takes out a bag of pills from the back of her mouth. The green and white pill for dogs is one of the pills.

“I love you mom. Now wide open,” Chloe says as Diane’s eyes widen in horror and the film turns black.

So what just happened there ?! Chloe flips the script on her mother Diane and literally gives her a dose of her own medicine. She now drugs her mother to make her even sicker, just like Diane has done to her all her life.
