RuPaul Drag Racing: Soju Eliminated – End of Season Interview 11

[ad_1]

At the risk of giving birth yet another RuPaul Drag Race conspiracy theory, is not it a bit like if the odds were against Soju, the hope of season 11, from the beginning?

Think about it for a minute: not only was she paired with Pork Chop – the first queen eliminated from the franchise – in the first of the season on Thursday, but she also unwittingly chose the same workstation once occupied by Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. Even Soju recognizes, "I was getting ready to fail, my daughter."

Below, the first eliminated candidate of the season describes her ephemeral experience in Ru's universe, including how she really feels about Silk Nutmeg Ganache's critics.

TVLine | I will not offer my condolences for your elimination. Instead, congratulations on your presence at the show.
Thank you so much. I do not really feel like home.

TVLine | Let's start with a medical update: how is your tendonitis?
My tendinitis is just something that I have to live all my life. Anyone with chronic tendonitis knows that it's not right, just keep stretching yourself and try to prevent it by not getting too stressed. This is not the case right now, which is good. I wear high-heeled shoes when it does not light up, so I have a good time right now.

TVLine | It's good. What about your cyst – do you regret revealing its location?
[[[[Laughs]When that word came out of my mouth, at that time, I was like, "What did I just say?" But I came backstage for untucked and they give you those cute little cocktails. As soon as I saw that the girls were amusing and joking, it put me in a good position. So I thought, "It does not matter. I said what I said and I will go. "Now it's OK.

TVLine | I have always wondered: what is the strength of these drinks?
Some drinks are stronger than others. But I will not lie, I also drank some of the drinks of others.[[[[Laughs]I was really nervous!

TVLine | Well, I have the impression that they have mistreated you by associating you with Porkchop.
D & # 39; right? I did not see what the other girls did for the mini-challenge, so I did not know there were other queens out there. When I saw Porkchop go out, I thought, "Oh, maybe everybody do it with Porkchop. And then I watched the episode and said, "Oh my God, I was the only one working with her!" ". Nor did I say that the workspace I had chosen belonged to Vanjie last season – so I was just preparing for failure, my daughter.

TVLine | Speaking of Vanjie, would you have liked to follow his advice on the silhouette?
Yes of course. I chose a silhouette that I knew well. Before I started, I practiced sewing a mermaid dress with stretch fabric. But when I picked up Kim Chi's luggage, I thought, "OK, two Koreans. I have to give them volume. In my head, that's all I thought about. I did not try to listen to others. When you start to question yourself, it's when things can go wrong.

TVLine | I do not even think it's fair to eliminate someone in the first episode. You have to get used to a lot of things!
OK, maybe you should talk to the producers!

TVLine | Are you still going to see the rest of the episodes this season, or do you feel too close to the situation?
I will definitely continue. I have more insight now and I am more knowledgeable about the unfolding of the series. I was a bit naive before. It was only the viewer's opinion. I want to keep doing the reviews, but there will be a little twist now that I have seen how it works.

TVLine | Well, I can not say that I ever expected to hear "The best of both worlds" in this show.
Oh my God. Miley Cyrus has so many incredible songs. How did they even get Disney's permission to do it? As a drag queen, it's not the kind of song I do and it's certainly not the kind of song that Kahanna does. It was therefore a challenge, but we both had a very different lip synchronization one of the other. We stayed true to our individual styles.

TVLine | I thought I knew this song, but you came out of lyrics that I had never heard before.
[[[[Laughs]Honestly, me neither!

TVLine | What did you think of Silky Nutmeg Ganache saying that "it shows" how long you are slipping.
I think she's right. I am really a baby queen and I think that has been demonstrated. This is one of the lessons I learned: As much as you consider yourself a drag queen, you have a lot to learn and you can only learn from experience.

TVLine | Finally, I know you fear that your premature loss will discourage gay Korean viewers. What was the answer?
I get a lot of messages, even from faceless private accounts. Some people have created accounts just to send me a message because they have not come out and they do not want to get caught. I start to be moved just to talk about it, but it was me. I was this kid in high school. I was the child who saw Margaret Cho on TV and who inspired me. No matter what happened on the show, I know I'm making a difference just by being on TV and not forgiving who I am. So I can not be sad. I am very happy.
