Salt Lake City police looking for man seen on video assaulting gay man

A video circulating on Twitter shows a man hitting another man in Salt Lake City after asking him if he was gay, reported CBS affiliate, KUTV. In the video, the man is asking the victim, "Are you gay?"

The victim, Sal Trejo, replies, "Oh, I am."

The suspect replies, "Oh, so you're gay?"

While Trejo tries to answer, the suspect is seen hitting him.

Trejo told KUTV that the incident occurred at 1:45 am in front of a bar on Main Street.

Trejo said that they did not know the man in the video and that he was standing outside, waiting for an Uber.

Trejo said that the man had approached and had started making misogynistic and homophobic comments to him, as well as to those of his group, composed of men and women.

They feared that it was dangerous, so they started filming it.

Trejo claimed that the man had hit him on the arm, shot another member of his group with a knife and pushed one of his friends.

The man then moved away, engaged in a black BMW and moved away erratically, the car hitting flexible separations on the road.
