The world’s largest smartphone vendor has come a long way in the software support department over the past two years, making headlines as one of the first companies to offer Android 10 updates its latest flagship devices of the era in 2019 and once again succeeds surprisingly early Deployment of Android 11 for the 5G compatible Galaxy S20 trio recently.

We’re talking about one of the most populous countries in the world, especially Russia, where a number of Galaxy S20 FE users have been allowed to leave Android 10, replacing their phone’s preinstalled One UI 2.5 skin with it. Samsung owner’s iteration 3.0. user interface.
It is a huge update, mind you, tipping the scales at well over 2GB, with a whole bunch of performance improvements, security fixes and various other UI tweaks, add-ons, and cool new features integrated to make your relatively new S20 FE device feel even more modern.

Obviously, we don’t know when we should expect the OS promotion to spread to other regions (or specific US carriers), but we can safely assume that some sort of expansion will take place by the end of the year. Maybe even before Christmas in some markets.

In comparison, Sony has barely launched an OTA Android 11 shipped earlier this week, while HMD Global has yet to update a single Nokia-branded smartphone. We call it unmatched software support from the world’s leading handset manufacturer.
