One of the main drawbacks of our review of the Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus was the integrated fingerprint sensor. We found it slow and inefficient enough to be noticeable.
Now that the device has been out of order for a while, many users are complaining about the same thing. Samsung should be listening because it is currently offering a fix on the Samsung Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus, supposed to make the sensor faster and better than ever (via SamMobile).
The biometric software update, which includes the new patch, is distributed via the Galaxy Store. Therefore, there is no way to manually trigger the update; you have to wait for your device to go.
Does the patch actually improve the fingerprint sensor? It's hard to say: many Reddit users who have received the patch seem to believe it, but there is always the concern of the "placebo effect" with these kinds of things. Whether the fix really does wonders or not, at least Samsung does not ignore the problem and instead seeks to find ways to improve the user experience.
