"Saturday Night Live" adds three new members for season 45

"Saturday Night Live" announced three new star players for its 45th season.

Chloe Fineman, Shane Gillis and Bowen Yang will all appear in the new season of NBC's long series of comedy sketches. Fineman was a new face at the Just for Laughs Festival of 2018 in Montreal and produced regularly at Groundlings. Gillis was recently recognized as a new face at the Just for Laughs Festival of 2019. Yang joined "SNL" as a personal writer last season and is co-host of the "Las Culturistas" podcast.

The news of the cast members comes about two weeks after announcing the release of Leslie Jones after five seasons. It was assumed at the time that Kate McKinnon would also leave the series, but she is about to return when "SNL" will begin her new season on September 28 with host Woody Harrelson and the guest musical Billie Eilish.

Previously announced hosts for the season include Phoebe Waller-Bridge, David Harbor, Kristen Stewart and Eddie Murphy. Besides Eilish, musical guests include Taylor Swift and Camila Cabello.

"SNL" is produced in association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels is the creator and executive producer.
