Former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci congratulated House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of D-Calif.
"I think the smartest person is actually President Pelosi," he told Fox and Friends on Friday. Scaramucci said that while he understood that Democrats had tried to use the impeachment issue to raise funds on the anger of their base, this would be a bad strategy for the 2020 elections.
He said the Democrats should instead look for a candidate who can beat President Trump. Although Trump has a good chance of winning in 2020, commented Scaramucci, Sanders was a "formidable" opponent and even the president admitted it during the election campaign.
