The Seattle Seahawks made another late addition to their defensive line, agreeing to meet veteran defensive tackle Al Woods.
The Woods agency, SportsTrust Advisors, announced the decision Friday, just hours after the signing of the one – year deal between the Seahawks and smuggler Ezekiel Ansah.
Woods, 32, was among the many defensive strikers who visited the Seahawks, according to ESPN's Field Yates, who were looking to strengthen their presence after leaving the departure of Shamar Stephen, coach of 2018, free. At March's owner meetings, coach Pete Carroll called the issue "need to be clearly defined," and the only notable addition Seattle has made to the position since then was the drafting of Demarcus Christmas in the sixth round.

Woods, who is registered at 6-foot-4 and 330-pound, will be the main candidate to play the nose tackle in Seattle's defense alongside Jarran Reed. Other Seahawk home defensive linemen are Quinton Jefferson (who also plays at the end), Poona Ford, Jamie Meder and unprepared rookies Bryan Mone and Jay-Tee Tiuli.
Woods has made 43 starts and has appeared in 111 games since entering the league as a fourth-round pick on LSU in 2010. He made eight starts last season for the Colts and played for four other teams, including one. passage of two games with Seattle in 2011.
The Seahawks have been busy since Tuesday, after which free agent additions no longer count as compensatory choices. In addition to Ansah and Woods, they also hired cornerback Jamar Taylor, back Nick Bellore and goaltender Marcus Martin.
