With a series as big and wonderful as Mario Kartit can be difficult to identify a favorite. If we had to do it, we would probably go with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – do not worry, we always love others – mainly because the series now seems to have reached a point where everything is so close to perfection. We do not get tired of it.
The only negative aspect of Mario Kart that reaches such a state is that, honestly, we can not see where the series will go next. Each installment brought something new to the table, changing things in a subtle or meaningful way and – for the most part – improving things in all areas. If we were to receive a theoretical "Mario Kart 9" on Switch in a few years, how would it be different?
Well, these videos from the YouTube user AtlasOmegaAlpha make us dream of a particular feature that could open things in a new and huge way. Videos feature custom tracks, taking over the game we know and love, and enhance it with new locations and even new UI elements. Check them for yourself:
Now imagine if Nintendo had added a feature to create your own Mario Kart tracks using game-integrated templates and customization tools. You can share them online, face them with your friends (if Nintendo's online support is set up by then), and maybe even set your own challenges to visitors when creating your site.
It may sound a little too dreamy, but would you ever have thought Super Mario Maker was a real possibility before his announcement? We are not development experts and have no idea of the difficulty of creating a 'Super Mario Kart Maker', but sensational do we want one if it is possible.
