Seahawks final score against Steelers: Pittsburgh drops to 0-2 while Roethlisberger and Conner leave with injuries

The 2019 season could not have been worse for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Not only were they stunned by the hated New England Patriots in the first week, but they have now fallen to 0-2 after a home defeat against the Seattle Seahawks and, worse yet, they have lost Ben Roethlisberger and James Conner Game Sequences.

Roethlisberger is injured at the elbow when throwing deep into the right-hand line in the first half. He stayed in the game for a while, but was eventually taken to the locker room. He was replaced by Mason Rudolph, who acquitted himself nicely (12 of 19, 112 yards, 2 TD, INT) and almost made a comeback, but ended up not succeeding. Conner came out in the third quarter and was replaced by Jaylen Samuels. The injuries did not stop, Vince Williams left early and Sean Davis was released shortly after.

All these injuries were ultimately too hard for the Steelers to overcome, even in a game where the Seahawks made mistakes. Seattle took 10 penalties in this one, and also allowed four sacks. Not only that, but Chris Carson escaped the ball twice at the Steelers, with Pittsburgh capitalizing with touchdowns twice.

But as usual in Seattle, Russell Wilson played just enough to win. He hit Will Dissly for two scores. He found D.K. Metcalf for another. And he was also ahead, blocking the large number of Rashaad Penny's touchdowns. These four scores ended up giving the Seahawks a 28-26 win.

The Seahawks return to Seattle to face the Saints in the third week. The Steelers will be looking for their first win of the year on the road against the 49ers.
