BEST IMAGE: "Roma"
"Roma" has so much to say in a very simple way. Many people have neglected the poeticism of the film. When I watched it, it brought back many memories of my childhood and the people who took care of me when I was a kid. And times when I was in trouble, I was comforted and that important milestones were reached in life. I thought the film had captured this in a very elegant way. Second place is "BlacKkKlansman". Third place is the "Green Book".

BEST DIRECTOR: Alfonso Cuaron ("Roma")
He is such an author and his vision is very personal. I really enjoyed the discreet simplicity of the film, but at the same time, when we look at it, we see how much there is in the frame for what it does here from scratch. It was a brilliant achievement.

BEST ACTRESS: Glenn Close ("The Woman")
The actress is easy for me and it's Glenn Close. It is a combination of this performance and the body of her work, as well as her stature as an actress. This is the right time for her to get the Oscar. It is also the least that can be said because it is a person who does not need dialogue to express his emotions.

BEST ACTOR: Bradley Cooper ("A star is born")
It was an awful decision, and when I went through the ballot, I left it open for a while because I was so indecisive. Finally, I went with Bradley Cooper and it's a surprise. I tend to be a type of voter who spreads love, and I want to thank him this year.

BEST ACTRESS: Amy Adams ("Vice")
I'm going for a long shot but a personal favorite in Amy Adams because she's so good. Although she had little time in front of the screen, she established how much the man behind her was a force.

BEST SUPPORT ACTOR: Mahershala Ali ("Green Book")
It's also easier, it's Mahershala. In this case, you see the range of his performance compared to his other work. He actually enters this role and has both an efficiency and an emotional arc, especially when he connects to the end with Viggo.

SCREENPLAY BEST ADAPTED: Spike Lee, David Rabinowitz, Charlie Wachtel, Kevin Willmott ("BlacKkKlansman")
He was taking a lot of history and was compressing himself into a movie. He has done a very effective job to really attract you and cover a lot of ground.

BEST ORIGINAL SCENARIO: Paul Schrader ("First Reformed")
As a work of art, I thought it was very powerful and that the film was somehow lost in the factory. Ethan Hawke should have been nominated for Best Actor. This film was a real artistic feat.
