Selena Gomez shares behind-the-scenes footage of new Spanish song De Una Vez

Selena Gomez confessed in a behind-the-scenes video posted Tuesday that she thought she sang better in Spanish than in English.

The 28-year-old singer made the revelation in an accompanying video for her new Spanish-language song De Una Vez which she released last week.

The video began with an exterior shot of a one-story suburban house, then showed Selena inside her hair and makeup.

Selena and a friend told the story of a mutual friend who wore a clown costume to play a prank.

She laughed as she combed her hair and explained how she purposefully uses a straight face with their boyfriend.

“It’s actually my first Spanish song that I’ve done since I thought I was maybe 18, 19,” said Selena after being shown singing a few lines from De Una Vez.

Selena took charge of the opening scene, and raw footage was released showing her in a pink floral print dress lying on a bed with satin sheets and pillows.

“ Basically I spent hours trying to perfect the language and I also know some of it growing up, ” Selena said while wearing white Beats headphones.

“It was really fun going in. It’s just a whole different world. And I personally think guys, I don’t know if anyone else really cares, but I think I sound better in Spanish than English. Which is weird, right? It’s just my thing, ” she added.

Selena, sitting on a yellow sofa, showed her funny side, explaining that she had just used some of her “ magical powers ” to turn off all the lights in the room.

Raw footage from the music video then showed her dancing with her arms in a circle as the lights went out in sync.

“ I was a wizard on that Disney show, then, ” Selena joked, referring to her lead role on the Disney Channel series Wizards Of Waverly Place from 2007 to 2012.

De Una Vez is Selena’s first Spanish song since A Year Without Rain in 2010.
