"I had tears in my eyes. These are not tears of panic," she told Robin Roberts, in an interview recorded on Tuesday on "Good Morning America." "It was tears to know that I now had to give in to a body in loss of control, and that relieved somewhat."

Blair, 46, shared his diagnosis for the first time in October. The actress became famous thanks to her role in the movie "Cruel Intentions" of 1999. She has starred in movies like "Legally Blonde" and "The Sweetest Thing". More recently, Blair played in "American Crime Story" on FX.

"Since my son was born, I was in an MS crisis and I did not know it, and I gave him everything to look normal," said Blair. "And I cared for myself when he was not with me, I drank, I had pain, I did not drink always, but there were times when I could not take it."

For Blair, telling his 7-year-old son Arthur Saint was the most difficult.

"I had to tell her after the MRI." I said, "I have something called multiple sclerosis," she recalls. "And he almost cried and said:" Is it going to kill you? "And I said," No. I mean, we never know what's killing us, Arthur. But it's not the doctor who tells me I'm going to die. "And he was saying," Oh, okay "and that was all."

The actress said that she had contacted the actor Michael J. Fox, who had revealed in 1998 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

"I said:" I do not know who to say, but I drop things, I do strange things, "said Blair. "He made contact with me and we started conversations, he really helped me … he gives me hope."
