Dakar and Beijing intend to strengthen their cooperation across several areas, including justice, infrastructure, civil aviation, investment, human capital development, security, climate change, among others. This was decided by the two heads of state, Macky Sall and XI Jinping, during his visit to Senegal.

"The People's Republic of China is a major and reliable partner because our cooperation covers such important areas as infrastructure, agriculture, industrial development, energy, water, education, health, sport , the culture and the Tic ", welcomed the Head of State this Saturday during the state visit of the Chinese president XI Jinping to Senegal. During their tête-à-tête, the two presidents exchanged on topics common to the cooperation between Senegal and China. Thus, President Sall said that about forty projects and programs in progress, completed or in prospect, were reviewed during their interview. Bilaterally, Sall says, "our relationship is excellent and based on respect and trust. We will work to make them multilateral and beneficial. " According to Macky, China is a country rich in civilizations of several millennia. It is one of the largest economies in the world and it has a quality of resilience to hardship and ardor, rigor and discipline in the work. China's past is a model for saying that the development of a country goes through a constructive state of mind. Boasting good relations between Senegal and China, he gave the example that the 113 km long "Ila Touba" highway financed by China. On this, Macky Sall advocated the strengthening of this multilateral partnership. Regarding the financing of China in Senegal, he argued that a total of more than 900 billion FCFA was invested between 2012 and 2018. "We will promote direct investment between our two countries by facilitating the cooperation of our two private sectors ". On this occasion, the Head of State reaffirmed Senegal's participation in the next Sino-Africa Forum to be held in Beijing. According to Xi Jinping, agreements signed in the areas of justice, infrastructure and civil aviation will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two countries. According to him, Dakar and Beijing will continue to consider cooperation and ensure that they bring abundant benefits to both parties. "We will expand cooperation in infrastructure, investment and human capital development. We want to intensify cultural exchanges and strengthen ties of friendship between the two countries, "he said. In terms of security, Macky Sall can count on the support of Xi Jinping because he has promised the expansion of cooperation at the security level in order to increase the capacity of Senegal to fight cross-border crime. Regarding climate change, Mr. XI Jinping assured that his country will invest in the fight against this scourge in order to preserve the rights of developing countries.
