In his opening address, the President of Togo, HE Mr. Faure GNASSINGBE, President of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of ECOWAS, welcomed the ECOWAS-ECCAS Joint Summit on Peace, Stability, Security and the Fight against Terrorism and Violent Extremism
The Encouraging Results and the "Lomé Declaration" with Sanctions he said that the work of this joint summit will give a greater perspective to the action of ECOWAS in its march towards regional and continental integration.
The Togolese Head of State also urged its Peers to continue their efforts to find better solutions to the challenges facing the Community, including security and peace, the food crisis in certain countries and international trade.
