Four people were killed and 10 wounded in a landslide that occurred on Tuesday in Limbe, southwestern Cameroon, following heavy rains that hit the country for more than 'a month, according to an official report announced by the authorities on Wednesday.
This drama was recorded after a heavy rain swept Tuesday morning the seaside town of Limbe, where the earth has yielded and caused serious damage to Manga Hill, a nearby agglomeration, causing a death toll of four deaths based on the researches of the fire brigade intervention teams deployed in the region.
At first on Tuesday, three dead bodies were extracted from the mud in which they had been buried as a result of a landslide followed by house demolitions. On Wednesday, the search continued, allowing to get out of the rubble a new victim.
The record also records "three to four other persons" missing.
These are the most painful events of this unusually heavy rainy season, causing severe flooding in parts of Cameroon since the month of June.
In Maroua in the Far-North region, nearly 80 families find themselves homeless because of these floods and call for help from authorities.
In the economic metropolis of Douala, a bridge located at the entrance of the city collapsed Wednesday, cutting the road in two and causing a disruption of traffic for travelers departing or coming from Yaounde, forced to take a bypass.
