Abidjan soon in the heart of humor

The city of Abidjan will host the ninth edition of the International Festival of Laughter Abidjan (FIRA) from 03 to 05 August 2018.

This is one of the first professional comedy festivals in Côte d 'Ivory as the director-promoter, the comedian and comedian Dolo Adama said Adama Dahico at the official launch on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.

It is with 4000 spectators and more than 25 comedians that this festival will take form with the different shows of this 9th organization which will be themed "humor and sustainable development in Africa."

"After the FIRA, our goal is to go inside the country and in other African capitals to promote humor, "he said. For the promoter, the level of humor in Côte d'Ivoire is experiencing a phase of professionalization. "Côte d'Ivoire has an acceptable level of humor," he said. Then he adds that this country is "one of the first exporters of humor in Africa."

He sought support from Ivorian politicians for humor and theater. "Policies can help us by building cultural infrastructure. They can also help us during this festival by buying tickets for their militants, "pleaded Adama Dahico.

The FIRA, produced for the first time in 2003 by Doromikan productions chaired by comedian Adama Dahico, wants to a framework for exchanges and cultural dialogue. Its aim, among other things, is to promote comedians by offering them opportunities to participate in other festivals around the world and to allow the emergence of new talents.

Three major shows are on the menu of this 9th edition will be held at the Palace of Culture of Abidjan from 03 to 05 August. These include the "One Man Show Night", "The Maomikan Scrub at Dahico" and "The Afternoon of New Talent".
