Moussa Faki Mahamat pledged, upon his return to the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, to take appropriate measures to ensure that solidarity and compassion with the Cameroonian people "are translated into action through a relevant initiative that calls the situation. "


Referring to the presidential election of October 7, 2018, he promised the accompaniment of his institution in his organization, an assistance which will result, inter alia, by sending an important mission to Election Observation.


The Chairperson of the AU Commission took the opportunity to appeal to all political actors of the majority, the opposition and civil society to work together to ensure that this election takes place in a peaceful climate and national harmony.
